Think stylish bars, big slices of lemon and seriously gorgeous gin cocktails
Sometimes there is nothing better in life than a nice G&T.
The alcoholic tipple is one of the nation’s current favourites, and luckily there are lots of bars in Cardiff offering a great selection of ‘mother’s ruin’ to choose from.
Whatever gin takes your fancy you can be sure our Welsh capital can satisfy demand with some of the best gin brands and cocktails in the land.

Where: 27 High Street, CF10 1PU
A restaurant underground in what used to be a bank vault that serves gin (among other drinks) that complement the modern British menu. There are more than 30 – yes, 30 – gins to choose from.
What should I try? The Larios 12 & Fever Tree Premium Tonic. It’s served with orange slice and coriander seeds. Twelve different botanicals are added over five distillations, including mandarin, clementine and tangerine leading to a hint of orange blossom. (£7)

Where: 1-2 Mill Lane, CF10 1FL
A cocktail lounge in Cardiff’s busy Mill Lane with a great selection of gin based cocktails that include a Cucumber Collins and a Rosewater Ricky. It also serves food.
What should I try? The Sloe-vendor Sour – sloe gin mixed with fresh thyme, lavender syrup, and a drop of lemon juice (£8.80).
